Join us in-person at Vantage Ventures as celebrate National Entrepreneurship with an interactive panel discussion with our Vantage Entrepreneurs creating a positive impact with renewable energy and climate change.
Our panel will be hosted by Vantage Community Mentor, Thomas Loehr, President of NextGen Solar Energy Inc. and Collegiate Clean Energy LLP.
We will feature some of our Vantage ESG Entrepreneurs and chat with them on how they embedded ESG into their business practices and value propositions. Come hear their inspirational stories, including their start-ups’ origin stories, their biggest challenges, and what led them to success. Our roundtable discussion will follow a specific format, covering the relevant topics and allow space for questions and networking.

Auggie Chico
Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Parthian Battery Solutions, LLC
Vantage Entrepreneur Auggie Chico is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Parthian Battery Solutions. A native of Morgantown, WV, Auggie started Parthian during his senior year of college to clear the roadblocks in the way of electric vehicle and renewable energy adoption. With the support of grant winnings, Auggie bootstrapped the company from concept to revenue in <6 months.
Parthian Battery Solutions provides an economically and environmentally viable method for automakers to retire their electric vehicle batteries, by repurposing them into stationary energy storage systems. Its inventive hardware utilizes repurposed EV batteries, offering consumers the ability to obtain lithium-ion technology at affordable prices and keeping discarded vehicle batteries out of our landfill.
For his work with Parthian Battery Solutions, Auggie was recently honored in the 2021 class of 'Smart Business Networks' "Pittsburgh Smart 50 Awards,"' recognizing business leaders within the greater Pittsburgh area for operating Innovative, Impactful, and Sustainable businesses.
Auggie has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University.
Kyle Gillis

Vantage Entrepreneur Kyle Gillis is Co-founder of Iconic Air. This software startup pioneering a new way of emissions monitoring and data reporting for the oil and gas industry. We believe in a transparent, continuous, and automated process to ensure a frictionless transition as the world moves toward higher standards of climate change and ESG reporting metrics.
Kyle holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering at West Virginia University.
David Simms
Founder of Skypunch Technology
Vantage Entrepreneur David Simms is founder of Skypunch Technology, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) consulting firm with its flagship SaaS offering being the world’s first immutable and fully cryptographically verifiable online voting system.
Its innovative technology has built an online system that permits voting, purpose-built for election — resulting in a true voting system that lives online.
David is certified by AWS as a Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Security Specialist, Cloud Practitioner and as a Usability Analyst by Human Factors International.

Thomas Loehr
Vantage Community Mentor, Thomas Loehr serves as President of Collegiate Clean Energy LLP and NextGen Solar Energy Inc.
Thomas E. Loehr is a lifelong West Virginia entrepreneur. He established the States first Small Business Investment Company licensed by the US Small Business Administration. Mr. Loehr is also a former West Virginia State Senator and State Treasurer of West Virginia. In the State Senate he served as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and Banking and Insurance Committee.
Most recently he has been the developer of renewable energy projects in several States. Over the past 40 years he has founded, financed, and operated a number of businesses in the energy, communications, and service sectors of the economy. Mr. Loehr was the first chairman of the West Virginia State Venture Capital Fund and he has been active in facilitating strategic relationships that fostered growth and development in unique and innovative ways.
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from West Virginia University and a Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law. He also attended Exeter University in Exeter, England and the College of William and Mary. He has taught both Accounting and Finance at West Virginia University, Ohio University and West Liberty University.
