Women United will host “Power of the Purse” on August 23, 2018, at Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place to raise funds for the Library. The event, which runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m., will bring together hundreds of area women who want to support early childhood education in our community. The Power of the Purse event will feature dozens of mid- to high-end silent auction purses as well as live auctions, entertainment, and food. We will also have special guest and Morgantown native, children’s book author, and TV host, Emily Calandrelli. Proceeds from the event will support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in our community. The Imagination Library, which is already available in 39 West Virginia counties, provides one free book, each month, to children from birth to age five.
