Free and open to the public.
The Art Museum of West Virginia University’s “Lunchtime Looks” lecture series will continue Friday October 1, 2021 at 12:00 PM with Renée K. Nicholson. Nicholson is an Associate Professor in the Programs in Multi- & Interdisciplinary Studies and director of the WVU Humanities Center. Her most recent book is Fierce and Delicate: Essays on Dance and Illness.
Nicholson's talk will explore how artists convey a sense of place in both visual art and writing. The featured artwork will be William H. Partridge's landscape painting, Winter Twilight, currently on display in the McGee Gallery, and Nicholson will also draw connections to the 2021-2022 Campus Read, The Line Becomes A River by Francisco Cantú.
This is an in-person event and we invite you to join us in the Art Museum’s Plevin lobby at noon before moving to the galleries for the presentation. If you wish to participate virtually, please register with the link provided.
