The annual International Street Festival will be held on Saturday, October 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in downtown Morgantown.
Come celebrate Morgantown’s diversity! The event will showcase many of the different cultures that contribute to our community. The Courthouse Square area from Walnut Street to Pleasant Street will be a pedestrian only area with exhibits, entertainment, children’s games and food.
Browse the exhibits for a glimpse of life, language and music from Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, East Asia and celebrate Morgantown’s links to Mexico and China through the Sister Cities Commission. Several food vendors will be on hand to tempt your taste buds.
Entertainment will include performances by the WVU African Drum Ensemble, Japanese Sword Dancing by Tadashi Kato, traditional Appalachian music from Chris Haddix, and Colombian music from the Andes by Espiral. There will also be games from many countries for all ages.
This year’s festival is sponsored by WVU’s Office of Global Affairs and the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Truist Bank, Main Street Morgantown, the City of Morgantown and by a grant from Visit Mountaineer Country.com.
