2022 Monongalia and Preston County Day at the Legislature

​Monongalia & Preston County Day at the Legislature in conjunction with Preston County is an opportunity for county residents and businesses to meet with state legislators, department secretaries, and other department heads to address issues that our counties share. 

Let's represent the issues of Monongalia County and share with our legislators who we are and what we are doing.   It's your day to showcase the strength in our counties. Display tables are available at the Capitol for your organization and are limited on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Please register for this event whether you decide to use your own transportation to Charleston or join us for the shuttle ride. There will be schedule of events and additional details communicated to attendees closer to the event.

Itinerary (subject to change):

February 2, 2022 7-9pm	Optional Welcome Reception will be held the evening before on Wednesday 2/2 from 7-9pm. Embassy Suites Atrium (registration required, must provide own transportation/lodging).
February 3, 2022 6:00 am	Save your seat on the bus to Charleston departing from the Mountain Line Bus Depot. (or arrange your own transportation)
8:00 am	Arrival at the Capitol and set up display tables. Upon entry, you will need to clear a security checkpoint.
8:00 am - 10:30 am	Buckwheat Cake Breakfast in the Rotunda provided by Preston County
10:30 am - 12:00 pm	Open time to meet with local Legislators.  We will aim to have small group interactions with local Legislators and committees, including: 9:30-10:30 - Commissioner of Agriculture 11:30-12:30 - Secretary of Economic Development 11:30-12:30 - State Superintendent of Schools
10:00 am	House Citation and photo opportunity for Monongalia County. Meet at House Chamber.
10:30 am	Senate proclamation and photo opportunity for Preston County.
11:00 am	Pastor Tim Wotring, Mission Take Back Ministries - Preston County prayer in Senate Reverend Bart Thompson, Spruce Street UMC - Monongalia County prayer in House
12:00 pm - 1:30 pm	Boxed Lunch provided in WV State Training Center Bldg 7. (ticket required) Delicious sandwiches and more prepared by Beehive Cafe.
1:30 pm - 3:30 pm	Open time to meet with local Legislators and committees, including: 1:30-2:30 - Secretary of Commerce 2:30-3:00 - Secretary of Transportation/DOH-DOT 3:00-4:00 - Secretary of Tourism
4:00 pm	Bus departs back to Morgantown, WV.
