Location

The bus will leave from the upper gravel lot at the Mountain Line Bus Depot located at 420 DuPont Road, Morgantown WV, 26501 (Westover) at 6:00 am. Parking will be free in this lot area.

For those who plan to transport themselves to the Capitol, we will meet at the Capitol starting at 8:00 am.

Fees/Admission

This is a free event. Registration is required so we can have a head-count for the bus, food and meeting space arrangements.

Description

Monongalia and Preston County Day at the Legislature is an opportunity for individuals from both counties to meet with our Legislators, department secretaries and other department heads to address issues that our counties share.

The day is open to the community! It's your day to showcase the strength in our counties. Display tables are available at the Capitol for your organization and are limited on a first-come, first-serve basis. *Display tables are now sold out for the event!

Please register for this event whether you decide to use your own transportation to Charleston or join us for the shuttle ride. There will be schedule of events and additional details communicated to attendees closer to the event.

6:00 am	Bus to Charleston departs from the Mountain Line Bus Depot.
8:00 am	Arrival at the Capitol and set up display tables. Upon entry, you will need to clear a security checkpoint.
9:00 am - 12:00 pm	Open time to meet with local Legislators. 9:00 - 9:30 am: Tourism
10:00 am	House citation and photo opportunity. Meet at House Chamber.
11:00 am	Senate proclamation and photo opportunity.
12:00 pm - 1:30 pm	Boxed lunch provided. Delicious sandwiches and more prepared by Beehive Cafe.
1:30 pm - 3:30 pm	Open time to meet with local Legislators. 12:30 - 1:30 pm: Agriculture 1:30 - 2:30 pm: Commerce 2:00 - 2:30 pm: Speaker of the House 2:30 - 3:30 pm: Transportation 3:00 pm: Senate President Mitch Carmichael
4:00 pm	Bus departs back to Morgantown, WV.

*Please note that due to renovations within the Capitol, breakfast will not be provided this year. There is a cafeteria in the Capitol building with breakfast available.
